“Celebrating 20 Years of Community Service”

EMBRACING ROOTS

Newcomers who join the program are matched with a Canadian volunteer who will meet with them regularly for conversation, friendship and the sharing of knowledge about the community and Canadian culture. Volunteers benefit from meeting new people, exploring different cultures, engaging in fun activities and developing their skills in such areas as leadership and mentorship.
Our program provides the setting and a variety of activities and events facilitated by expert Program Leaders in the areas of the arts and sports for both the newcomers and volunteers to participate in. The program provides:
               • Friendship matches between young newcomers and Canadians
               • The tools and skills to play sports
               • The guidance to develop one's artistic identity
               • New friends and the sharing of knowledge
               • Exciting field trips and engagement in fun activities
               • Help with employment through presentations and referrals
               • The development of leadership and mentorship skills
               • And much more...
