Ashmere Island Canoe and Kayak Trip, 09/13/2017

Did you know that Berkshire Natural Resources Council owns an island?

Ashmere Island is on the northern half of Ashmere Lake. This 7-acre, forested island is very near the eastern and western shores at a pinch-point of the lake.

Please note: Most BNRC hikes do not require sign-up. In the case of this boat trip, the leader is requesting advance sign-up. Contact information below.

Bring your own canoe or kayak & a picnic lunch. We’ll put in at boat launch ramp (see meeting location, below) at the south end of Lake Ashmere & complete “clean boat” certifications, then paddle under the road to the island at the north end of the lake, where we’ll picnic & swim.  This is a pristine lake partially lined with cottages.

The event will be canceled if high winds or t-storms are forecast.
