Join us in reading Whose Tracks Are These? while we walk the Healthy Heart Loop and keep our eyes out for animal activity.

Difficulty: Easy (0.5-mile loop, no elevation changes)
Description: Join us in a story walk! The pages of Whose Tracks Are These? A Clue Book of Familiar Forest Animals by Jim Nail will be posted on stakes. As we walk through the hemlock forest we’ll stop at each page, read it, and guess which animal the book is referring to. Along the way, we’ll listen and look for animals and animal signs. This event is geared toward young children, but all are ages welcome. Please wear sturdy footwear and appropriate layers.
Directions: To the trailhead parking area on Gulf Road, Dalton: take routes 8/9 east from the center of Pittsfield. Take a left onto Park Avenue, passing Craneville School. Take a left onto Gulf Road. Park at the pull-off on the left, opposite the parking for the Appalachian Trail.
