Guided Hike on Yokun Ridge, Stockbridge/Lenox/Richmond

When: Tuesday, June 14, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm 

Where: Loop hike starting at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health and connecting to trails on BNRC’s Yokun Ridge South Reserve

Distance: Approximately 5 miles total 

Difficulty: Moderate (moderate pace, moderate elevation changes) 

Description: Join us in hiking the southern section of The High Road on Yokun Ridge. We’ll begin the hike at the designated High Road parking area Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. From there we’ll venture through the apple orchard and into the forest. After crossing Richmond Mountain Road, we’ll hike up Old Baldhead Road to Monks Pond and connecting to the Burbank Trail. The Burbank Trail offers a western-facing vista where we will enjoy lunch. From there, we’ll follow the Burbank Trail to Olivia’s Overlook, another popular scenic vista, and connect to the Brothers Trail. The stone staircases and hemlock forests of the Brothers Trail will lead us back to our starting point at Kripalu. 

The High Road, a long-term initiative to make connections from towns to trails and along clusters of conservation land, allowing hikers to explore the scenic Berkshires. Yokun Ridge is the first High Road route to open connecting Pittsfield to Lenox. For current route information visit bnrc.org/the-high-road. 

Please note that final signage from Bousquet Mountain to Mahanna Cobble is in development.

Be Prepared: Wear sturdy footwear, bring at least 32oz of water, snacks and/or lunch. Hiking poles can be helpful with the elevation changes. BNRC has a few pairs to lend if you need them. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome on this hike.
