Housatonic Heritage Hike at Alford Springs, Alford, 09/30/2017

Walk the Mother Trail at BNRC’s Alford Springs Preserve.

Difficulty: Moderate (moderate pace, moderate elevation changes)

Description: Join BNRC staff for a hike on the Mother Trail at Alford Springs Reserve. Hike this beautiful trail, pass eastern views into the Alford Valley and eat lunch alongside Dr. Beebe’s foundation in an old apple orchard.  Wear boots/sturdy footwear and bring drink & lunch.

Directions: From the center of Great Barrington, take Taconic Avenue. Taconic Avenue turns into Alford Road. After passing Simons Rock College, take a left onto Seekonk Road. Seekonk Road turns into Green River Road. After traveling about 6 miles, take a right onto Mountain Road. Once on Mountain Road, go past BNRC’s first parking area (at the sharp turn). Go to the end of the road before bearing right to go down into BNRC’s parking area.
