Explore Parsons Marsh with Berkshire Natural Resources Council
Wednesday, November 30, 10:00am – noon
Distance: fewer than 2.0 miles
Pace: Slow, 2 hours
Terrain: mostly off-trail, slight elevation gains, rough terrain
Description: This hike will focus on a small but very important parcel on Parsons Marsh. We’ll explore site feature from the mine to the marsh. This hike is all about meandering and exploring – we’ll go where our whim takes us. No dogs, please.
Directions: from the center of Lenox, follow Route 183/West Street west to Tanglewood. Just before Tanglewood’s parking areas, turn right/north on Undermountain Road. Follow Undermountain Road north for 0.8 miles to the “BNRC event” sign tacked to a tree on the right, opposite the duck pond at Stonover Farm (169 Undermountain Road). Bring snacks, water, warm layers, bright clothing (it’s deer season!) and weather-appropriate footwear.
