Solar Eclipse Hike on the Hoosac Range, North Adams, 08/21/2017

Experience the solar eclipse atop the Hoosac Range!

Monday, August 21, 12:00pm – 4:00pm


IMPORTANT UPDATE: We’ve had overwhelming response about this hike! Please tell us if you are going, email: mauman@bnrc.org or call 413-499-0596. It will be VERY challenging to accommodate more than 50 people. Carpool if possible!

Difficulty: Moderate (slow pace, moderate elevation changes)

Description:  Hike a total of 6 miles along a ridgeline trail that looks out over valleys and towns far below. Our halfway point will be the open rock summit of Spruce Hill, where we will be for the peak of the solar eclipse. We will experience a 65% eclipse. BNRC will provide 5 pairs of certified eclipse glasses to share. Please bring snack, water and appropriate footwear.

Directions: From Pittsfield: Take Route 8 North, at the Cumberland Farms in North Adams, take a right onto 8A. Then take a right, heading east on Route 2. The trailhead parking is on the right after the Wigwam Cabins.
