Stevens Glen Hike, West Stockbridge/Richmond, 02/08/2017

Explore one of the most dramatic ravines in the Berkshires.

Wednesday, February 8, 11:00am – 12:30pm

 Pace: Easy, 1.5 hours

Terrain: Moderate

Description: Stevens Glen is easily accessed on carefully designed trails. Bridges over Lenox Mountain Brook allow for easy crossings; at the top of a series of steeper stone steps there is a sturdy bench upon which to rest; the trail is laid out to visit the most scenic interior views; and the dramatic ravine is safely penetrated by stepping down to a railed platform. Bring lunch/snack, water, a warm layer and weather-appropriate footwear for this 1.2-mile hike. Be prepared for potential ice on the trail. Dogs on leash are welcome.

Directions: From the center of Lenox, take Route 183 South for 1.5 miles, passing Tanglewood. Where 183 bears left, go right on the Richmond-Lenox Rd. Continue uphill for 1.6 miles. At the top of the hill turn left onto Lenox Branch Rd. (Lenox-West Stockbridge Rd.) and go 0.6 miles. Park at a small pull-off on the right with a sign for the Glen.
