Join us on an early spring walk to learn about vernal pools and why it is important to protect these vital breeding grounds for amphibians and other fascinating creatures.

Difficulty: Moderate (moderate pace, moderate elevation changes, some off-trail venturing)
Description: Join the Berkshire Environmental Action Team and BNRC for a walk to learn about vernal pools and why they are valuable and in need of protection. We will mostly be walking on-trail with some off-trail venturing. The 1.6-mile walk will end on Sunset Rock just in time for the sunset. Please bring water, and wear appropriate footwear.
Please note: the lack of amphibian activity could cause the event to be rescheduled.
From North Adams: Take Route 2 east. Past the hairpin, on the top of the hill, the parking and trailhead will be on your right.
From Pittsfield: Take Route 8 North, at the Cumberland Farms in North Adams, take a right onto 8A. Then take a right, heading east on Route 2. The trailhead parking is on the right at the top of the hill, immediately after the Wigwam Cabins.
