Join us at Beartown State Forest for a FREE 3-hour guided exploration in search of signs of wildlife. Enjoy a mid-winter’s day exploring nearby woodlands, marshes and streams. See what local wildlife has been up to. Journey off-trail, less than 2-miles, at a leisurely pace with some rough terrain and likely stream crossings.
Join contributing naturalists and co- sponsoring organizations, Jim
Pelletier of Mass Appalachian Trail Management Committee, Mariah Auman of Berkshire Natural Resources Council, Christine Ward of Great Barrington Land Conservancy, and Alec Gillman of DCR State Parks.
If there’s enough snow bring your own snowshoes, or traction devices and hiking poles. Dress accordingly for the cold weather.
Bring water and a snack.
Directions: Meet at the State Forest’s Benedict Pond day-use area, Benedict Pond Road, Monterey.
Pre-registration is required. To register email Mariah at email@example.com or call 413-499-0596.
