Join Dave Edson, educator and naturalist, at BNRC’s Parsons Marsh reserve to observe bird species during the peak month of their autumn migration through Berkshire County.
This event is for everyone: all experiences, all ages, all abilities, and all identities are encouraged to join.

Trail Details: We will cover the 1,800-foot (⅓ mile) trail at a slow pace.
The Parsons Marsh Trail is designed and built in 2018 to U.S. Forest Service trail accessibility standards (FSTAG). The first 600-feet of trail features crushed stone surfacing with a running slope not exceeding 8% and a cross slope not exceeding 5%. An accessible picnic table and bench are provided on a short spur near the pond. Additional benches are located in the middle of the boardwalk and at the observation platform. The last section of trail is comprised of 900-feet of curbed boardwalk, with a 41” passable width and grades not exceeding 7%.
- The entrance of the trail is 41 inches wide between two rocks
- The packed stone dust path is 5 feet wide
- The boardwalk is 41 inches wide with 3 passing locations
- The parking area is gravel with two designated accessible parking spaces.
What to Bring:
- Binoculars, if you have them. Extra binoculars available for loan!
- Layers, sturdy footwear, and water.
- Please bring your own medical necessities (inhaler, EpiPen, etc.)
