The trail system at Clam River is like a bar bell with loop hikes at both ends. For this hike, participants will hike the Wolf Tree Trail and the northern loop of trail system. The Hammertown loop is among the most beautiful sections of this beautiful trail. Part of the trail is along the top of the ridge above the river in a dense hemlock grove, perfect for a hike on a warm August day. Hikers will park at the Sandisfield town hall lot and carpool to the Hammertown trailhead.

What to Bring: All hikes are on Wednesdays and begin at 9:30. We strongly recommend using hiking poles. If you don’t have them, we can provide poles for the hike. Good hiking shoes are essential.
Cancellation: If we need to cancel the hike due to rain, we will notify participants by email by 7:00 AM the day of the hike.
