About Sunshine Sessions with Berkshire County Head Start
Sunshine Sessions—a joyful series of interactive events designed for children and their caregivers. Designed for ages 3-5, but all ages are welcome. These sessions invite families to play, learn, move, and grow together through hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, and meaningful shared experiences.
From digging into science through play to exploring wellness, art, and nature- every Sunshine Session is a new opportunity to nurture connection, curiosity, and joy.
When & Where
All sessions run Monday - Thursday from 10 to 11:30 AM
Transportation is required. Please plan ahead or reach out if you need assistance.
What to Expect:
Play-based, sensory-rich activities just right for preschoolers
Grown-up participation that encourages bonding and connection
Outdoor movement, exploration, and fun
A supportive environment that celebrates big feelings and little learners and focuses on social-emotional development
Opportunities to build social-emotional skills like empathy, working together, and self-regulation
Events:
Monday - June 29 & July 13: Tails & Tales! Participate in a music movement activity at Brattle Farm in Pittsfield, enjoy a story walk, and then meet furry friends!
Tuesday - June 30, July 7: Mindful Meadows with Abby Tague Engage in an immersive outdoor yoga and movement experience designed for young ones in Williamstown, guided by a certified yoga instructor!
Tuesday- July 14: Mindful Meadows with Radiance Yoga Engage in an immersive outdoor yoga and movement experience designed for young ones at Marchisio Park in Pittsfield lead by Radiance Yoga!
Wednesday - July 1: Net & Nurture Walk along beautiful Parson’s Marsh trail in Lenox, guided by Berkshire Nature Resource Council, then scoop slime and critters from the pond to observe with a magnifying glass!
Wednesday - July 8: TBD
Wednesday- July 15: Story Walk on Trail Read a story walk along the Old Mill Trail in Dalton, guided by Berkshire Nature Resource Council! Participants receive one take home book per family.
Thursday - July 2, July 9 & July 16: Moo & Meander! Participate in a guided tour of Hancock Shaker Village in Hancock, meet some furry friends, and enjoy a walk along an accessible wooded trail!

If your child has sensory, behavioral, or developmental needs, please let us know in advance—we’re here to make accommodations and welcome them warmly.
Who It’s For:
Designed for children ages 3–5 (all ages welcome) and their parents, guardians, or caregivers. Adults stay, play, and participate throughout each session.

Important Info
Cancellation & Refund Policy: At this time, we are unable to provide refunds for missed or unattended sessions.
Event Disclosure & Cancellation Policy: We strive to provide a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for all participants. However, all scheduled events, activities, and field trips are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to:
Inclement weather
Illnesses or staff availability
Facility closures
Other circumstances beyond our control.
We will make every reasonable effort to notify participants and guardians of any changes as early as possible. Substitutions or alternative activities may be provided when feasible. In the event of a cancellation, a suitable alternative or rescheduled date will be available; refunds will not be issued.
Subject to Change: Events may be adjusted or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. We’ll communicate any changes as early as possible.
Lunch is not provided. Outside snacks are permitted. No tree nuts allowed.
