Location Policy

The BNRC Trails mobile app makes use of the mobile phone’s location services to show where you are on the map, provide directions to property trailheads and to notify you of points of interest close to your current location. Location services require your permission for the BNRC Trails app to check your current location. This is an optional but recommended permission to have the best user experience.

Background Location

Your BNRC Trails mobile app may have the option to turn on ‘background location’ permissions. If you have ‘background location’ turned on, the BNRC Trails app will periodically tell us about your device’s location even if you are not directly interacting with the application. The purpose of ‘background location’ is to inform you of upcoming points of interest that are within a particular distance to your current location. To turn off background location, go to your device’s location permissions settings and turn off ‘Allow all the time’.
